It's that time of Year! Yes, ladies it's nearing the time for Maxi Dresses, these long and flarey dresses add sexiness to any woman from tall to short, these dresses add character and style to the women wearing them. I love the longness of it, as I am standing at a mere 5'4 when the maxi touches my feet it leaves everything to the imagination. It covers all but outlines sexiness, when worn right this can be a hot trend for any body type. From bare arms to pairing with a cami or blazer the Maxi is the perfect day to night Spring/ Summer outfit.

Nobody loves summer more than me! My love for summer comes from the awesome perks that we get. Perks? Yes perks, great weather, beautiful sun, maxi, and shift dresses that we can dress up and down with heel, flats and oh, yes Sandals! Nothing feels more liberating than slipping your prefectly pedicured feet into a pair of jellies or strappy sandals. On Wednesday, February 13, 2013, I attended Nolcha Fashion Week: New York Fall/Winter 2013 presented by RUSK held their runway shows at Pier 59.  The day-long event featured 3 runway shows, and 13 designers.  This was a star studded event and included Celebrites like

The Nolcha Fashion Week: New York Fall/Winter 2013 presented by RUSK was held at Pier 59 Feb 13,2013 and The Presenting Sponsor RUSK returns for a second consecutive season, and is joined by Official Sponsors: smartwater, CLEAR, RealBeanz, DON Q Rums, FOCO Pure Coconut Water and American Airlines. I had a blast! Although this isn't my first fashion show it was my first runway show and i have to say, it was great! Not only did I love the designers, the production was well done and well organized. There were 13 desingers in all and they all wowed me. I am would have to give this show an A+++ for everythng including Dany Tabet's emotional proposal on the runway! See my fav pics below:

Fashion week was a blast, I attended a couple of awesome events to kick start the festivities. First up the Guess & Marie Claire Exclusive pamper yourself event. This event was on Feb. 5, 2013; held at the 5^th avenue store. Guest were invited to shop the Marie Claire must-haves for Valentines day;  while enjoys champagne, treats and mini-makeovers from NYX cosmetics.


This event was amazing! Walking in you were greeted by handsome waiters holding champagne and treats and beautiful sales girls handing out samples of Guess Girl’s fragrance and keys for a chance to win a $200 gift card if your key opened the box, (I didn’t win but was still reward with a $20 gift card for participating). There were so many must haves I must say from Guess spring/summer line I didn’t know where to start. This was the perfect event to kick start my journeys on fashion week. I was in desperate need of a Mani and the Mini Manicure station was perfect; the manicurist, color, and brand selection was AWESOME. They spared no expense and I really enjoyed myself. Next I hit up X’TIGE Press & Buyer Cocktail off fashion week. This event took place at X'Tige New York Showroom on Feb. 6, 2013, located in the heart of midtown at 37 West 57th Street on 11th Floor. X'Tige is a New York Fashion Showroom PR and branding, Sales NYC, accessories showroom; that features both menswear and womenswear. This event was open bar serving up cocktails and wine. The event was lined wall to wall with press, buyers, models, bloggers and crashers enjoy the cocktails and scenery; this was an excellent event. For sales info contact sales@x-tige.com

After exiting X’TIGE Press & Buyer Cocktail party, I shot over to Brooklyn to hit the hottest party to kick off fashion week the SHK Magazine Party. This event was hosted by SHK Magazine and sponsored by B Culture media at Passenger Bar (the train-themed bar located at 229 Roebling St @S. 3^rd, Bkly, NY). With special guest DJ’s Peggy from Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Connor from Drums! They had the party jumping from 9pm-12a, with open bar from 9-10pm this event was a must attend! I enjoyed the crowd and had a blast!See some pics from this event below:

Lastly on February 7, I made my way to the Cocktails, Networking, & Shopping event at Henri Bendel, located at 712 5^th avenue in midtown at 56^th st. The event was hosted by Joya Dass & Greta Knutzen and served up wine and raspberry truffles while enjoying 20% off full priced merchandise. This was a fun yet relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed this event! The raspberry truffles were extraordinary!!!
